HISTORY
Morild was originally built as the coastal steamer "Skjold" and spent several years transporting goods and passengers in the western fjords, later she was lengthened and converted to a pure cargovessel. Later yet, the wheelhouse was modified, and the steam engine replaced with a diesel engine.
FORLIS
Morild was loaded with building materials, bricks in the hold and roof trusses across the deck. In the strong current of Salhus, the boat leaned over, the trusses got caught in the water, and the boat keeled over and sank .

PRESENT CONDITION
The woodwork is gone, but the hull is OK. The wreck stands upright on the bottom
DIVING
Easy to find, but be aware of very strong current, (see comments on SWALBE).
